We provide after-hours emergency care during NIGHT SKIING. Usually Tuesday and Saturday evenings 6.00pm to 9.00pm. Other after-hours emergency care is available at Cooma Hospital 02 6455 3222 or via the  Healthdirect GP helpline on 1800 022 222.

The ski patrol, ambulance and night manager have the on-call phone number for the clinic doctor if needed for an emergency out of these hours.

Procedure

Information about after hours care service is available next to our front door and on our on-hold/after-hours message, if it is an emergency patients are advised to ring 000.

Patients can use Healthdirect if not an emergency by following the below information:

After Hours GP helpline 1800 022 222

  • When patients call the after hours GP helpline, a registered nurse will assess them and based on their symptoms, the nurse may offer them a phone call or a video call from a GP. The GP will contact them within 15 minutes or 1 hour depending on the urgency of their health issue and the postcode they are calling from. They can either choose a phone call or a video call.
  • At the end of their call, they will be offered a care advice summary, sent to them by SMS or email, so they can easily recall the details of the advice they are given.
  • They can also agree to have a summary of their call sent to their regular GP’s practice overnight, so they are aware of the call when they open their surgery the following day. The after hours GP helpline can also upload a summary of their call to their My Health Record.
